MOTAG encourages both vendors and mill personnel to submit papers and discussion topics for our meeting and we welcome speakers and we appreciate you taking the time to prepare and tell about your Woodyard or Products to this group of Millyard Operators, Consulting Engineers and Suppliers. We sincerely wish that the delivery of your presentation is a success and that it be meaningful to the group. There fore we suggest the following ideas and considerations for your review.

Make maximum use of Visuals


MOTAG has ready for your use, Digitial Projectors, VCR, TV, and an overhead projector. Please remember that the room is about 75 feet long and all text and line drawings should be readable from that distance. Any additional equipment required must be supplied by the presenter.

Soft-Soft Sell


Refer to your equipment or product in generic terms only, ie: a hydraulic crane, a drum barker, chipper or shredder. Limit the use of company brand name to introductions only. This group is sensitive to anything that smacks of a hard sell.

Stick to the Facts


Forget about endorsements and or statements that vouch to "great" product performance enjoyed by one of your customers.

Watch Your Time


Try not to run over the recommended time allotment. If the program coordinator hands you a 3- minute warning - finish quickly but don't comment something to the effect that my time is running out etc....

When you finish


Please refrain from stating your room number. You can however make reference to literature on the back table should anyone like further details.

Appear to talk extemporaneously

BR> Using visuals ... but know exactly what you want to say so that your delivery is sweet, to the point, and effective. Save time at the end of your delilvery for questions, answers and discussions.

Be Aware of the Anti-Trust Guidelines


Back away from any question about the price of the product - competitors are in the room. Play it safe, don't discuss price at anytime during these MOTAG meetings.

Suppliers must not flood the Meeting with their salespeople


Perhaps no more that two (2) from your company would be considered appropriate. We will appreciate your cooperation in this matter.

Everyone present at the meeting is expected to pay the Registration Fee


Including the Presenters, but with the exception of Reps from Agencies Companies and Non Profit Organizations presenting at the invitation of MOTAG.

Hospitality Rooms


The only Hospitality Rooms tolerated for entertainment or individual sales presentations will be sponsored by MOTAG.

No Models Displays or Exhibits.


(other than brochures) will be acceptable at MOTAG Meetings.
