Steering Committee

Membership Selection

Every active member of MOTAG is eligible for appointment to the Steering Committee provided the following conditions are satisfied.

1.

The candidate will have uninterrupted attendance to the MOTAG meetings (4) consecutive times, unless waived by the Steering Committee.

2.

The candidate will express willingness to accept the responsibilities of membership, particularly a willingness to accept the possibility of promotion to the Vice-Chairman's position.

Membership Replacement

After a Steering Committee member has missed four (4) consecutive business meetings of the Steering Committee, the Vice- Chairman will be so notified by the Secretary. He/She, will in turn contact that particular member to determine what level of interest the member still has. With this information the Vice-Chairman will report back to the Committee along with his recommendation as to a course the Committee should take.

squarebut.jpg - 1288 BytesService on the MOTAG-South Steering Committee will be gained by regular attendance at the bi-annual workshop meeting and conscientious participation in the affairs of the Committee. The sitting Vice-Chairman of MOTAG will be titular Chairman of the Steering Committee.
squarebut.jpg - 1288 BytesThe size of the Committee will be maintained at a level as close to the twenty (20) people, plus or minus ten (10) percent as possible.
squarebut.jpg - 1288 BytesThe normal criteria for selection of a Committee member can be waived upon special cases by a majority of the Committee members present at a business meeting.
squarebut.jpg - 1288 BytesThe steering committee will serve as the sole policy making group of MOTAG setting such guidelines as the registration fees, approving students for scholarships, determining scholarship amounts, number of participants etc.
