was founded in 1973 by a group of paper industry woodyard supervisors and their suppliers. for more than two decades, this group has met twice annually to discuss new ideas and procedures directed at handling and processing by-products. In addition, presentations and discussions have centered around mill teamwork and personnel issues, as well as understanding the new environmental agendas.

This is a non-profit organization, governed by the anti trust policy of TAPPI
is fully sanctioned and guided by TAPPI as a sub-committee and, as such has by-laws and a steering committee that commits the meeting program and attendees to conduct themselves professionally to TAPPI standards.
provides a conduit for communications between and among the fiber supply portion of the pulp and paper industry to hear and discuss prepared presentations covering mill woodyard design and operational problems. By the very organization of the meeting, there is ample opportunity to discuss specific problems and gain new ideas for solutions among peers and vendors.

supports a well-funded scholarship program that every school semester provides assistance for up to 6 students enrolled at colleges and universities across the south in majors which will lead them into the pulp and paper industry.
